What this calculator does
Translates your monthly grid units (kWh) and night backup needs into approximate system kW, panel count, and storage kWh for Pakistani sun hours.
How calculations work
- Enter average monthly units from your electricity bill.
- Add night backup load (W) and hours you want off-grid after sunset.
- We use ~5.2 peak sun hours/day (Pakistan average) to estimate array size.
- Battery kWh is sized for evening self-consumption — the fastest-growing segment of home solar.
Examples
~11.7 kWh/day → ~2.3 kW array + 3–5 kWh lithium for fans/fridge at night.
Common mistakes
- Oversizing panels without night storage
- Ignoring import duty on lithium packs
