Project delivery terms

Terms for engineered work — custom battery packs, commercial installations and fleet deployments. These apply to anything quoted as a project rather than ordered from the catalogue.

What counts as a project

A project is work where AmpereX designs or builds something specific to your site or application: a custom pack, a commercial or fleet installation, or a system that has to be surveyed, commissioned and handed over. Ordering an in-stock battery is not a project, and follows the standard delivery terms.

The written quote you accept is the binding document. Where it differs from this page, the quote governs.

Payment milestones

Project payments are staged against progress, not paid in full up front:

Advance on order

50%

Due when the project quote is accepted. Procurement, cell allocation and build scheduling begin once it is received.

Balance on commissioning

50%

Due on completion of commissioning at your site, against the signed handover document.

Payment methods are the same as for any other order — see payment methods. Cash on delivery is not available on projects.

Survey and visit charges

A site survey or site visit is chargeable and is billed separately from the project. It is payable whether or not the project proceeds, and it is not part of the milestone schedule above.

Site survey, site visit or initial product diagnosis

Rs. 5,000

A flat charge for an AmpereX engineer to survey your site, attend your location, or carry out an initial diagnosis of a battery or system.

  • The charge is Rs. 5,000 per visit, or per unit where the assessment is of a product rather than a site.
  • It covers the assessment itself: load and runtime measurement, inspection of the existing installation or unit, and a written finding.
  • It is payable whether or not you go on to place an order, and whether or not the finding is favourable.
  • Parts, repair work and installation are quoted separately once the assessment is complete.
  • Travel outside the surveyed area may be charged in addition. This is confirmed before the visit is scheduled.
  • A warranty inspection on a product still under AmpereX warranty is handled as a warranty claim, not as a paid diagnosis.

How a project runs

  1. 1

    Enquiry and load assessment

You share the load, runtime, voltage and site constraints. AmpereX confirms what is technically feasible before any price is discussed. This first conversation is free; an on-site survey is not.

  2. 2

    Site survey

For installations, AmpereX surveys the site to confirm cabling routes, ventilation, mounting and the existing inverter or charger. The survey output is what the quote is built on. Site surveys and site visits are chargeable, at the rate published on the payment methods page, and the charge is payable whether or not the project goes ahead.

  3. 3

    Project quote

A written quote fixes the scope, bill of materials, price, payment milestones and the lead time for your specific project. The quote is the binding document, not this page.

  4. 4

    Build and factory test

Packs are assembled, BMS-configured and capacity-tested before they leave. Test results are recorded against the serial numbers.

  5. 5

    Delivery and installation

Equipment is delivered and installed to the surveyed design. Site readiness — power, access, civil work — is the customer's responsibility unless the quote states otherwise.

  6. 6

    Commissioning and handover

The system is energised, tested under load and handed over with a handover document, as-built details and serial numbers registered for warranty.

Lead times

Project lead times are quoted per project, not fixed in advance, because they depend on cell availability, pack configuration and site readiness. The lead time stated on your accepted quote is the committed one, and it runs from the date the advance is received. Delays caused by site access, civil work or customer-supplied equipment extend it by the time lost.

Commissioning and acceptance

Commissioning ends with a handover document listing the installed equipment, serial numbers and the measured performance at handover. Customer sign-off on that document is project acceptance. If a defect is found during commissioning, it is corrected before sign-off rather than deferred.

Changes to scope

Changes to scope after the quote is accepted — added capacity, moved equipment, revised layout — are priced as a written variation and may change both the price and the lead time. Work on a variation starts once it is accepted in writing.

Cancellation

The advance covers cell allocation and scheduling and is non-refundable once procurement has started. If a project is cancelled after the build has begun, costs already incurred on custom-built assemblies are payable, as those assemblies cannot be resold as stock.

Warranty on projects

Warranty cover on a project starts from the commissioning handover date, not from the invoice or delivery date, and is registered against the serial numbers listed on the handover document.

Register and check cover at warranty check.

Starting a project

Share your load, runtime and site details through a quote request, or talk to the team via contact. The first conversation and the load assessment cost nothing; an on-site survey is charged at the rate above.
